Transportation!

We bought a car!

I was in New Zealand all of 5 hours before Tim, Dan, and I purchased a station wagon. We'd been looking through ads online for a good 45 minutes and the last one we saw had no photos, no description - we just had a phone number and a listing for a very cheap for station wagon that cost $1,450 New Zealand dollars (roughly $1,000 US) that was located on our street! What luck!
Tim called the guy on the listing who came and picked us up from our hostel and drove us back to his place of business. We looked it over and then he said we could test drive it -- Tim climbed in the driver's seat and asked Mohammed if he wanted to come with us and he was like "No I'll wait here." He just let us drive off! We were laughing and clapping as we drove away and tested everything out. It even had a tent and some extra camping stuff in the back. The only things that don't work are the AC and the radio. We had the car about 10 minutes and decided to be crazy and buy it so we could pick Mike up from the airport.
Mohammed was definitely surprised when we said would pay cash right there but then he told us to drive the car to the atm so we could come back and pay him. The trust was unreal. To top it all of he said he would buy it back from us at the end of our journey if we couldn't sell it. We bought Indian takeaway to celebrate and Mike arrive safetly an hour and a half later.
